family is what i need...

I don't remember climbing trees as a kid. Luckily i have two lovely sisters that remind me how great it is to be a kid everyday ....
Sometimes they climb trees , drink slurpees while clapping along to rilo kiley, and other times they just run a muck at my favorite thrift store.
I love love love days like these.

street scene 2007

This was my original outift. You can't see it but there is a huge peace sign on my shirt. I figured that it was a little trying to be from brooklyn so i opted for a more simple i just wore what i wore the previous day outfit.

We left around one, and i was wayy worried i was going to miss Sondre Lerche since he was the only other reason i would go to yet another festival. Don't get me wrong i love brand new but it's becoming way more about my atmosphere than catching a band i've seen a gazillion times over.
So anyways the ride over was nice, barely any traffic some good conversation and a million laughs. We got there to a sea of cars luckily we had v.i.p. parking thanks to annel so when we entered Luis let me know there was 15 min. left of Sondre's set so we rushed over there in time to hear one song then a melody of two way monologue and sleep on needles...it made my day for sure . Unfortunately i missed out on all the witty banter that goes on in between his sets. It was a wonderful view though his little small stage was on top of the lawn and the sun was right behind him . Then i decided it was alcohol time , we got some beers then headed down to see the album leaf. I seriously fell in love with them again...sometimes i forget bands exist if i don't hear about them all the time ...they sort of slowly get forgotten about on my ipod but now i will start listening to the album leaf again.

I guess Luis was doing some major scouting cuz he found a photobooth for us at the captain morgan tent, we headed over there after the album leaf and basically invaded that poor booth. If anyone knows me they know that i am OBSESSED with photobooths ...of any kind so we did that for awhile. I went on a hunt with annel for a margarita then we watched clap your hands say yeah. They played that great song "satan satan SAY DANCE" ..it reminded me of roxanne and her crazy religious stories and how we would dedicate that song to her all the time at work..
Then we got in place for brand new which was really really enjoyable . The crowd was tame but not lame (eeeyoooo that rhymed) they played a wonderful set. I had room to dance and sing with my friends it was all very lovely , all except the joke of there last show being in hawaii this weekend..(if it was a joke? i hope it was) After i recovered from the awesomeness of them ..i realized i wasnt feeling to well brushed it off headed BACK to the captain morgan tent but found the "rave tent" on the way ... We all went inside and jumped around and danced like idiots . Then i "challenged" this one raver ..glowsticks in hand and all ...and i think i won if i do say so myself. Artic Monkeys were on and i fucking love there new cd so i HAD to hear it live ..their stage presence sucks but the music speaks volumes and i know that if i was not sick and a little bit more into them i would of enjoyed it more. We were waiting for the killers to come on because well we werent going to leave without seeing them i guess its a thing ya know..then derrick called and came by to say hi for a bit which is always nice to see that boy ....the killers came on and we were very unimpressed...too much gold..too much confettii...just too much of everything. We left 3 songs into it and headed to sombrero's mexican food..so we thought! We got directions from 3 different sources all telling us to get on junction 94 west exit 1b4 broadway/30th st. a street me and my friends now dont believe exist ..after 40 min of exiting..and entering random freeways and streets..we decided to hit up the only mexican food we can find some place called saronga..(sp?) where a drunk girl begged us to let her cut in line because she just got dumped and needed to soak her sorrows in a burrito..then this drunk bitch kept calling Luis her pioneer because he ordered a breakfast burrito. um ok? this is why san diego is weird.... we got out of there ASAP and drove home listening to everything from saves the day to the first brand new album to help shadi sing and stay awake..sometimes on nights like these i think im the luckiest person in the world.

hollywood afternoons

There is something about the weather when it's gloomy and gray outside. For some reason i am obsessed with the smell of wet asphalt, it's addicting. The first rain of the season so im very happy with today. Diego called early in the morning we made plans to head to marc jacobs, candice was going to meet us there and we were just going to "hang". Marc was very dissapointing there was nothing cute there, i dont think diego has ever left the marc store empty handed but he did today. After we decided to go to American Apparel on robertson to meet up with Candice, we looked around the shops for a bit then just decided we were hungry and headed to Canters where i got a very filling roast beef sandwich....

i left my heart in san francisco...

SAN FRANCISCO....always , and i mean always puts me in the best mood.
There is something in the air there i call it little new york because
it has the heart of a big city without being intimidating.
I headed over today with my dad both of us with different intentions to visit.
It was a day of reunions...
Somehow Jean was in town. Kind of random but awesome.
Jean was my roomie in new york and it was nice that we were both out of
our respective cities enjoying time somewhere else. Not going to lie it made me
feel like i was in new york again and i kept thinking that at one point we were going
to go back to the apartment haha .
I met up with her in fisherman's wharf as soon as i got there we were going to "in n out" it
but decided to hit up a local joint called Joanie's instead. The place was not bad , not the
best but it was just nice to catch up with her and ill be in new york by end of november
anyways even if its just for a bit.

I rode a cable car down to market so i can visit the most amazing forever 21 to grace my presence where i finally reunited with Jen. I love love love her . It's funny how grown-up friendships are , you can go months without talking and pick up right where you left off.
We did some shopping which is a typical girl pastime and then we decided to grub. There
was a cute little restaurant that prided itself with the title "world famous small pancakes"
so you know we HAD to try them...
I was a big fan of the 18 small pancakes and bacon not sure if jen felt the same way..haha
Then it was time for the best thing about San Fran...black and white photobooth pictures.
Now if you know me you know i have a huge collection of photobooth pictures..it's one of my
obsessions. I have visited san francisco in the past just so we could visit the booth in the museum of mechanics.Me and my friends have spend a pretty penny on these pics( 40 dollars
in one sitting , and at 3 dollars a set that's ridiculous) we took only four sets..we were good,
then headed to haight st for escape from new york pizza which is the best pizza i've had besides
porto fino's in long island and lets remember im not even a pizza fan.
We drove around a bit more and picked up her lovely boy . I love Jen as my guide to san fran there might even be talks to a possible move in the future..nothing set in stone there are soo many places i want to live so im just keeping my options open right now.

oh yeah and it's freezing here

when the shopping bug hits

Yesterday i went to lunch with Candice, Luigi, Jorge, And Anthony at one of my favorite places EVER... MITSUWA . I love to emerge myself in Japanese culture , and the food isnt half bad either ...it's there that i saw the cutest thing in the world that i NEED to own.

i must own this one day ....
so basically mitsuwa is the best thing in the world because it's half a japanese market,
half a japanese food court. They have the best curry chicken cutlet there that makes the world
go round literally.

After Mitsuwa, Luigi, Candice, and I decided to hit up Salvation Army before we had work at 4.
i ended up with some cute stuff, It's weird because i only really like buying thrift store clothes.
It makes my outfits feel more special knowing that im probably the only one that has it.Found
a kodak instimatic that works with 110 film instead of my other one that works with 126
which means i can actually use it. Then Candice bought me a cute black dress and a brown
shirt (i'll take pictures later.) Luigi ended up with the prize though because he got this shirt
with tigers all over it, it ruled times 10000 . I somehow want to make a list of all the great
thrift stores in my area...it's very hard for me to find ones i like. Normally the stuff they
have sucks or is overpriced for what it is. Im defitnetly more a fan of the thrift store then
the vintage store but maybe one day i'll make this said list.....

Today i went thrifting again...I feel like my wardrobe is hella lacking lately. I've become a
slave to the t-shirt and jeans and just want to change it up a bit. When i was younger i
was soo into dressing up , i used to watch old movies and try to recreate the looks with
the pencil skirts and the button up collar blouses. I wanted nothing more than to look
like an old starlet. My sister used to make fun of me because there was a time where
i would go a few months dressing every era but fashion was fun to me then and i was
experimenting with different looks even if i came out of the house looking like a freak
i loved knowing that i could put together outfits that made me standout. I think thats what
is amazing about fashion, you shouldn't have to take it so seriously you can make outfits
that express your personality.

Today i also got some cute stuff...
im trying to not go overboard and just get some cute pieces here and there.
I bought a blue blazer i know blazers are not in right now but im over cardigans
and sweaters so im trying them out again...
Somehow during the day i ended up at souplantation with angie and sabrina.
Really souplantation is pretty dope, mostly because its a buffet place
that doesn't make you feel so guilty . How guilty can you feel pigging out on salad?
I love their chocolate muffins , i am known to steal some and take them home.(eeek)
Angie of course got full off first bite cuz she's an idiot..hahaha she kept talking about
these pants she bought at urban and i had literally bought the same ones the day before
so now we are twinsies.....all in all a good day
i should sleep ..san francisco tomorrow!!!

end of fashion week..

and this is what i found interesting.

Let's start with Anna Sui our favorite goth has done it again.
What she has done i really don't know but i am really bored with what
she does now, some dresses were pretty mixed in with a lot of
WTF... red and white can only be done by meg white and nobody else.

Carolina Herrera's collection was made beautifully for who it was intended for.
Her customers are older and more sophisticated but really out of the show
i can see some stuff i would really love to own (but then again i am a grandma)
The beutiful frilly dress with the red cardigan and the cut and the collar on the
sleeveless blouse just throws me back to the 1950's and makes me wish
i lived back then.

Diane Von Furstenburg did what she did best , but gave it a new life.
The wrap dress will never die and the print and the length on the first one
pictured seems to have made it trendy enough for next season but i am
so in love with the second look. I'm seeing a lot more body definition in
these collections high waisted belted skirts and higher bodices completely
curve balled from the tent dresses we were seeing this past year.

Betsey Johnson is always insane and thinks its prom season all year,
but that's what she does and if i was going to prom i would definetly
wear the first dress and make my date wear a baby blue tie.
She used a lot of different colored polka dots in her collection
which scares me if polka dots will be making a comeback in
the spring (crossing fingers that should be a no)

and the man who could do no wrong...

Marc by Marc Jacobs

this show made me soo happy , mostly because the marc jacobs collection (not pictured)
wasn't the best we have seen so hopefully he put in all his time in making this collection
breath taking which it was. This collection made me feel like he went down to the french riviera
and just soaked it in . My favorite color combination of all time is red and blue and i always want to just wear red and blue together and put on a beret and wish that i was in a jean luc godard movie , i feel like maybe marc was in my head or something. He put so much color in this collection besides the color combination of red and blue, he had some bright yellows, and corals.
I seriously don't know what to say besides marc is the only person who makes me excited about fashion .....
