jean just made me realize how much i love the postal service..for some reason they always remind me of driving down streets in the middle of nowhere in Arizona ....
I miss Arizona , i never thought i would say that ..hahaha but i do. It always seemed to be the place we would run to but never really wanted to go . Now i miss "my bridge" and my friends..and the air in my face and just random shit like that. I remember waiting for shows to start and it being beyond hot and us trying to find shade and refuge inside any place we could. There was that lame ass river that ran underneath "my bridge" that i would always go visit by myself and that actually had the name "mel" spray painted on a lamp post (i swear i didn't do it) There was this one time i went to see this old friend's band and they were playing with Mae and something happened that i ran out crying hysterically to the bridge and i just remember sitting there ..the sky light with a dark orange glow and me in tears , it sounds sad and it was at the time..but that could probably be one of my favorite memories of arizona...maybe cuz im just melodramatic like that...
anways....

So even though i shouldn't be spending any money right now, we FINALLY
got the lomography ring flash in at work today and as soon as i saw it i almost fell to the floor!.
So i bought it and now i love it and i haven't even used it yet.





I'm so excited to get some money soon and buy some good film at b & h and just start shooting with my holga and more importantly my diana..
why is it that i love taking pictures soo much and never really develop my film..???
i'm lame...

Then i finally got back on my ebay kick and started looking up polaroid land cameras.
I have a crappy one back home and i never used it because it seemed impossible to find
film but now living so close to the best camera store ever made me want to get one. I
put a bid on one on ebay and WON!!!
so now i'm expecting this lovely thing in the mail..



Luckily there are a gazillion websites dedicated to teach you how to use transfer film and as soon as i get the hang of it ..i'll probably go transfer film crazy !
It's just amazing all the cool effects you can get mainly the double exposure of a polaroid...
yes kids this is the only thrill i get in life.

too much time on my hands....

I don't think i've done anything in the past week that is worth mentioning besides going to visit Luis or hanging out with Luis in the city. The rain has kept happy thoughts away and definitely has kept "adventurous mel" at bay. I need to start walking around the city more. I have taken a week off from looking at apartments for my sanity's sake really. I've been watching wayyy too much tv and how can i not when "how i met your mother" is

back on the air!!!and yes i know that Ms. Britney Spears will be on next weeks episode and im glad that at

least with this cameo HIMYM will get better ratings and more people will tune into the show so it can get picked up next season (yep im a geek) other than that im eating some really good chocolate cake from atlas right nowit's 2 days old but still taste goodddd.....

it's raining

rain is expected all next week...
i mean ALL next week ...WTF?
i guess this is what it's like to have seasons, but really now
if i wanted this much rain i would of moved to seattle .

I'm currently staying with my friend Jean till i go through the hell
of looking for an apartment . She lives dab in the middle of time
square which has its perks (It's 5 minutes away from my work)
and it's disadvantages (normally around 2 or 3 am drunk people
walk the streets yelling absurd things to each other normally happening
when i have to wake up around 6am) But the best thing is that
she lives right above a restaurant whose RED sign seems to sit right
next to her window making her room glow red whenever you turn off
the lights( her window is covered with a black curtain making it virtually
impossible to seep through with the lights on ) anyways im soo
obsessed with this mostly because it reminds me of that Seinfield episode.
(and i barely even like seinfield) but mostly because i just find it funny/amusing.
Really it feels like red light special all night long..
And really i get all kind of noise waking me up in the middle of the night,
it seems new york city never sleeps or more like whoever the fuck is out in times square
at all hours of the night. I hear construction always going on but i never really can
see where its happening. I hear drunk people walking the streets but i really don't know
of any bars on this block. I hear horses outside yet i never see them walking down my
street....All this boggles me..i just imagine a guy with a boombox playing this melody of
noises just to make me toss and turn all night, regardless i kind of love it.

i've made it to nyc

...and of course it's raining!
I somehow got sick on one of my gazillion lay overs and now im paying the price.
It is so cold outside anytime i step out my lungs feel like they are collapsing, i hope
this is not a foreshadowing of the coming months.
There are a list of things i must get to...
a lot of buying stuff i forgot to pack,
a lot of remembering the stuff i forgot to pack and seeing if they can ship it over
so i won't have to buy it, then there's that big thing you know the whole finding a place to live thing. yeah if anyone knows of any places that need a roomate let me know ASAP!!!

Today i ventured out with Lex to see a movie , we saw Miss Pettigrew lives for a day ..
it was a very entertaining movie , i dare say i REALLY REALLY liked it...
Amy Adams was amazing in it, and this time i knew it was her and not Isla Fischer who i am
constantly confusing her for, i went a few years thinking they were the same person which
up until this movie i had my doubts but she was so charming and electric in the movie ...
but just to plead my case
